Winter Portraits Paris

My apologies for the lack of contact. The past couple of weeks have passed in a flash. I am shortly  boarding a plan for Australia!! Yippeee..

This winter I had the pleasure of meeting the divine Shannon Fricke  who I have long admired through her beautiful design books and fabulous blog.

On a soft overcast Parisian day (is there any other type) I took these snaps of her beautiful family all rugged up for winter.

The top one was taken on the Pont des Arts, the middle in the garden behind Notre Dame and the last one on the right bank of the Seine.

What a divine family!!

What a gene pool!! The beautiful people above are brother and sisters and the divine offspring of Vicki Archer. I had the pleasure of taking these portraits during the 'making of' French Essence, what a joy  to have so much beauty in front of me. Not only are Emily, Paddy and Venetia beautiful but they know how to participate in the fun of making photos, they are totally unihibited in front of a camera. I took all these photos on TRI-X 400 black and white film using various forms of natural light. The top shot was taken in direct sunlight in the dying moments of the day, the middle shot with soft window light and the jumping pic was in 'soft box' grey winter weathe, all lovely and even.

Vicki Archer is giving away five copies of French Essence,  her latest book on Ambience, Beauty and Style in Provence. If you would like the chance of winning a copy click here to go directly to her blog.

When I have a chance I will post some more portraits from French Essence.
