Does anybody know what "Bobcat" was that Garmin talked about having at MacWorld?

I hope one of these versions is CDMA. GSM would be more practical from a non-locked, carrier-agnostic perspective, but I'd find it hard to give up the EvDO.

Very Awesome Christmas!
I got:
Macbook Pro 17" i7 256GB SSD 8GB RAM High Res Anti Glare
Kindle 3 with Marware Case
Timbuk2 Command Bag
Tron Legacy Addidas Hoodie
Chicago Blackhawks Winter Hat
Final Cut Keyboard Cover
The Macbook is insane, and I am not much of a reader but already bought Fight Club and have been reading that like crazy, so maybe I will get back into reading more. Good to spend time with all the family before I go off to college next year.

Depending on your state laws it is mostly based on "consentual sex" so if they both are consenting and she is 16 then its not rape...BUT in this day and age, a girl can cry rape if she gets in trouble with mommy and daddy and that is all the police need to hear...sad but true

Do you have the Gmail accounts setup as Pop or Imap? If it's Pop, try switching them to IMap.

I got a weird bug. Sometimes my albums in the photos app go right to the top of the screen and show underneath the 'menubar' at the top so I can tap on it and open the first album in the list. If I pull it back down on the rubberband effect it still goes to the top of the screen?! I have to restart my phone for it to reset and its still hit and miss whether it works.
Did you report it (https://bugreport.apple.com/)?

As a professional photographer this thing is (and always will be) an "App Store" toy - nothing more.
The iPad will never have the horse power to do what pros need.
So true. I will also stand with you that humanity has reached its technological peak, and there is nothing left to be invented. All we have to do now is lean back and smile at our incredible achievements.
Those fools who waste their time using their imaginations... Better to just appreciate all that currently exists and discourage others who try to imagine better possibilities. Amiright?
Sure, in the 80s we were the ones that said the personal computer, upon its release, was nothing more than a toy, despite it absurd popularity. So, okay, we were wrong then, but I assure you, not this time! Not this time!!

The editor is excellent at removing double spaces after a period.
Too bad it is unable to add even one, when the poster does not.

I look after 250+ macs across 8 advertising companies across 3 countries.
All of them are bound to our AD & use MS Exchange for e-mail. All users login with their AD credentials, map network drives & login & have screen savers etc enforced.
Our environment is 80/20 in favour of PC's, but on a day to day basis the mac users happily work along side the PC users.
We use JAMF Softwares Casper Suite to manage our Macs via policies (incl. application updates) & we're fully SOX compliant.
They can be a great asset to any environment, but if you want just the office suite a PC is the better option.
However, as day to day working becomes more media rich.. the macs are becoming more prominent.
We've very few applications that require windows only, but in those cases there's options like Citrix, CrossOver or a full VM solution that can help too.
So with little research, they can work.
I've been doing IT support for around 8 years, with integrating Macs into windows environments being a speciality.
Have a look at the following for starters:
Mac AD Intergration (Magic Triangle) (http://www.afp548.com/article.php?story=20040915152755925&query=AD%2Bintegration)
Casper Suite (http://jamfsoftware.com/products/casper-suite)
Enterprise Desktop Alliance (http://enterprisedesktopalliance.com/)

That was an awesome read. I am VERY interested in the removable graphics part. I really wanted the 6970m - but the 27" is physically not possible - so I'm stuck with the 6770m.
Can any comment on the possibility of upgrading your GPU down the road if needed?

I think all of the talking points have already been fleshed out. Bottom line is that Mac's simply are not an enterprise solution.
* Can you integrate them into an enterprise network?
Sure. I can also plug my home router into the network. I'm sure it'd work fine.
* Can the be your standard?
Not unless you're a small corp that doesn't use any real business applications. Then again, I wouldn't consider that to be 'Enterprise IT'.
* Group policy is only needed because Windows machines are insecure.
Can you honestly believe this if you actually have even the slightest amount of experience in an enterprise IT environment? That's the most ignorant thing I've read all day.
* Applications are all going to be web-centric.
Sure, that's the current direction, and from an IT perspective, makes the most sense. That's not a selling point for Macs though, that's a selling point for thin clients. If you want to talk TCO and use web-based applications as the justification, then you have to compare a Mac to a thin client..... and well, the results are obvious.
