I want retribution, so do most americans.
We have a right to defend ourselves. But revenge is not self-defense. We had a right to pursue bin Laden in order to bring him to justice, but the way we went about doing it reaped a sickening harvest of death, destruction and loss of international credibility all out of proportion to even bin Laden's value as a target. Al Qaeda was designed to function without a head, and bin Laden was a willing martyr. Some retribution.
The real reason for the celebrations over his death is a perceived saving of face and rationalization of all the money and human flesh expended in the effort. You can take bin Laden's corpse; I'll take the trillion plus dollars and ten thousand American (and unnumbered Iraq/Afghan etc.) lives back, given the choice.
As for enhanced interrogation, go for it. Skunk, i know you want the best for the world and im sure you're good intentioned, but many of your views are simply unrealistic. The world isn't that rosey.

The fundamental difference between terrorist organizations and authoritarian regimes on the one hand, and the civilized world on the other, is the latter's unwillingness to have recourse to violence. Policies of torture are unbecoming of a nation of people who purport to uphold the US constitution, regardless of the extreme methods adopted by our enemies. I do believe, I and a whole bunch of friends and other ppl have used that F word at ppl that are clearly not gay. It's just colloquial and doesn't have anything to do with homosexuality. Maybe in a "small" way (i.e. "Don't be a F"), in some cases it's supposed to imply that you are "scared like a girl (or a guy who thinks he is a girl...who presumably will be scared like one)" in some sense. But that's just it.

i don't see why so many people think iChat on a phone is so crazy or why it would need to be wifi.
i have a button on my Razr that is a direct connection to AIM so instant messaging from a phone isn't crazy, two of the people on my buddy list are on mobile phones.
iChat would be faster then texting and just cause this "second phone" would be very iChat based doesn't mean it wont be a phone. It sounds very sidekick like and the sidekick of course has AIM on it.
If they make a phone that will beat the Sidekick (shouldn't be too hard) then i'm in, i'd prefer that then just a a regular candy bar phone

If you install the TineEye extension for Safari (http://extensions.apple.com/), FireFox (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/8922/) or Chrome (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/haebnnbpedcbhciplfhjjkbafijpncjl) you'll be able to easily locate the original wallpapers if someone just posts a screenshot :) Or just use the webfrontend (http://www.tineye.com/) instead...

I'm about to replace the hard drive in a 17" iMac G4 800. When I take the old one out (80 GB Ultra ATA 100), will it be able to work in a Power Mac G4 "Sawtooth" (AGP)?
Just not sure about the technicalities of HD backward compatibility. I think the drive in the first drive bay is an ATA/66.

Even though they might both be legal adults, that does not guarantee maturity of action. If you think your son might do something rash, like have sex w/o a condom, then don't let him go over there. His legal right to make the decision relatively unimportant, I wouldn't let any of my friends have sex w/o a condom and they are all 18+. Stop him from doing something rash because you love him. But if he has shown himself to be trustworthy and responsible, then by all means reward him by giving him some freedom.
My mother acted as though she trusted me, but she didn't give me any privileges, which was a source of great annoyance while in high school. My mother was way too protective of me. I never made a significantly bad decision the 4 years I was in high school. I never got drunk and wrecked the car, I never got in any fights, and I never tried to get out of my responsibilities. Yet, despite all of this, I still had a curfew, I still wasn't allowed to be on the computer after 12:00. Had I been given these privileges would I have abused them? Of course not... I'm smarter than that.
If your son has earned your trust, then show it by giving him privileges. His age is irrelevant.

God I hate Notes- it's an operating system on top of an operating system. It's databases are just a step up from Access and to be honest - it's a pig.
I've been forced to use the piece a crap for over 5 years (I'm a consultant) and it had brought me great pleasure to help large scale enterprises move away from this overstuffed piece of crap.
Is Exchange any better - yes and no - in general they both are crappy. The biggest advantage of Notes is that their CALs (licenses) are so cheep compared to Exchange/Outlook.
When I start looking for a new job - the first question I'll ask is which Universal Messaging Platform have you deployed in your Enterprise? If they answer "Notes" I'll know the following about their organziation:
1. They care more about the dollar than about usability and employee satisfaction
2. The VP of IT is probably sleeping with the IBM rep
3. The business only uses it because they don't know any better (they've been there too long and have never used anything other than Notes and AOL).
4. They think that Notes databases are cool and hip and truly believe Access is an enterprise level database
5. And finally, they are so damn stupid they probably have Lotus 123 and Word Perfect as their "Office Suite"

It is in fact, just the opposite, more companies use exchange because it's already there and they don't know any better, not to mention that MS practically forces you to use it and they attempt to make it so easy that a baboon could set it up. Notes is good if implemented properly, better than exchange for what it's designed for. I have a feeling you just wanted to flame, so I'm just going to ignore you from now on.
