I promised a couple of months ago that I would share with you a shoot that I did in Florence. We had the great fortune to work in the most spectacular location, the Four Seasons Hotel in Florence. Once the home of the Florentine nobile family Della Gheradesca, the Palazzo della Gheradesca has been transformed into the most sumptious hotel.
The noble floor decorations have been left in their original state, divine frescoes, incredible flooring and corridors full of ancient statues and chandeliers. Where could have been a better location than to shoot our 'Mistress' story than this divine hotel. Our story was, the mistress who waits for her lover in a beautiful hotel but he never shows up!
I promised also to tell you what lightinng we used to create this look. I tried to keep the light very even (though I couldn't resist a more dramatic lighting in the second shot of the girl on the sofa).
To light the background we used a flash with a light bowl on it (kind of like a white world globe) that we bounced into the ceilings. It created a light that lit the background evenly with almost no shadows. For the model we used a separate light, a strip softbox to light her lengthways which helped when we were in a corner in the bathroom. Less bulky than a normal softbox!
Hair and make-up was done by the talented Paolo Baroncelli, styling by Louise Hilsz and the beautiful model is Angelica Sulzbach. Shot for Simply You.
