TeamUncoolFashion likes: Packlight 'Less is more' Lisbon Portugal

Got this from a friend. If your in Lisbon tomorrow night, check it out. I like their philosophy. Their pop up store open tomorrow night in Lisbon from 12 - 19.

The flyer below is in Portuguese but thankfully they kindly sent it to me in English too, :

'Pack Light gathers some pieces of clothing around the concept 'less is more"; pieces that we relate to, and that we feel are special in virtue of their quality and beauty in the details. It is, after all, with attention to detail that we can see things in a different perspective

More than a Pop Up Store, we felt the necessity to create a platform where we could expose the products we admire, and that we gather along in our journeys. We looked at the brands, big or small, and at the people who use them, because we want to tap into each persons singular narrative.

We focused on menswear, but because we value the products beyond their aesthetics, because we admire how they're made, who makes them and what motivates them to do it, we also focused on the ideas behind each one of the pieces and the way we relate to them.

Pack Light is not only a lifestyle; it is the culture we're part of. The pieces gathered in this first edition, reflect a state of mind regarding fashion and also the atitude that we exhibit daily, long after lights out, in the next morning, facing the day.

We seek the rare, the undiscovered and the new, having the importance of tradition always present. It is with these elements in mind that we explore several sides of menswear, in order to present our sense of style.

Welcome to Pack Light Pop Up Store. '

Big Bambu

A Jungle of Bamboo is Growing Atop the Met.....

The Met has long been a place where the flowerings of different centuries and cultures quietly coexist, an orderly home of Apollonian calm. But the installation, “Big BambĂș: You Can’t, You Don’t, and You Won’t Stop,” is a startling departure. Where once there were uninterrupted vistas of the city’s skyline and Central Park, there are now thickets and elevated walkways winding through them.
Museum officials estimate that some 400,000 people (depending on weather) will see “Big BambĂș” before it is dismantled at the end of October. All visitors will be able to stroll the roof’s main level. The paths above, however, will be limited to guided groups of 10 to 15 people, twice an hour. Those visitors will need timed tickets and a sturdy pair of rubber-soled shoes. Navigating the bamboo heights does present challenges, so the Met has trained its guides carefully for all kinds of eventualities, including a sudden attack of acrophobia.

Palm Springs,(the American Dream).

Robert Doisneau went in the USA for the fist time in 1960 to do a report about Palm Springs and its population of old and rich retired people. This book presents the result of his work : a personal view ( for the first time in color ), about this superficial planet and the pursuit of the American Dream.
